I want to talk about a Blog that inspired me yesterday. It was by someone that was asking me about how is it that I stay so consistent with my fitness journey and so consistent with so many things in my life? So this is what I want to talk to you about today. I want to know if you are a scoreboard watcher?

You know someone like that. They are always looking at the score. They are at the stadium always looking at the scoreboard and they forget to watch the game. What did they come there to watch? My older son, used to play T-ball. He has always been a pretty intense Dude. There would be kids out in the field just looking around, dazed, not really paying attention to the game. That is cute when you are six or seven, but when you are an adult, are you always scoreboard watching? You’re not actually invested in the game.

Here are you some examples. When you are on your fitness journey, watching the scoreboard is when you get on the scale every single morning. Did it change? It went up a pound! It went down a pound! I lost three pounds!  I gained four pounds. That is scoreboard watching. You are looking in the mirror every single day. Do I have abs, yet? Is the fat coming off? Do I still have love handles? Are you totally invested in the game? Are you addicted to the process?

Do you know how I started this process? I started this in 2014, and as of this week, I will have completed my 11th scheduled program. They are either 21 days,30 days, 60 days or 90 days. I have completed 11 programs. I have done it because I am addicted to the process. Here is what the process is. I am addicted to wearing outlandish clothing, I am addicted to waking up at 4:45 am. I tell myself, Greg, you have already done 90 % of what most people haven’t done. I am addicted to my pre-workout drink ready. I am addicted to the tingle and how it feels right now on my body. I am addicted to listening to my audio book of the bible consistently for one whole year. I am at 83% as of this morning. I am addicted to listening to motivational and inspirational videos on You tube. All of this before 5:10 am. I already know at this point I am 95% ahead of all of you. I am addicted to saying before I even do my workout, I am going to invest in people. Now I am 97% ahead of what anyone else has done. All these things are building up confidence, building up this desire in me.

So now I am going to push my workout. I have invested in myself, I have invested in others. Now it is time for me to strengthen my body, so I can get ready for what the day is going to bring to me. I am going to be ready for it. I am so addicted to the process that I don’t even care how my body looks at this point. I don’t obsess over my body in the mirror or obsess about my weight anymore. I haven’t gotten on the scale in weeks. I am addicted to the process and every one of those things I told you. I celebrate because I need confidence! I come on a live video feed, not even checking if face is clean, look at what I am wearing! I don’t even care! Over the last two years, I have built up so much confidence. Just by doing those processes that I just told you about.

That is what most people are missing. They are trying to get their confidence by putting something on social media, seeing if others will like it. I DON’T CARE! I do my thing. I have built up my confidence and did things that I can control. That is what I am addicted to. Do not be a scoreboard watcher. Start getting addicted to the process. You are not going to be able to do all of it right away. I couldn’t do all of that right away. You can start by breaking it down into little pieces which will help you start to build a better version of yourself. Version 1.2, version 2.0, version 3.0 and slowly you’re going to gain momentum. That is the key!
